Sang matched!
Sang found out earlier today that she has matched to one of the pediatric residency programs she applied to, so that means that we will definitely be staying in either California or Arizona for her residency. We'll find out where on Thursday at 10am PDT.

Day 5: Provo, UT to Cordelia, CA
Ah yes, we finally made it. We didn't leave my Dad's house until just before 11 yesterday morning, and pulled in to my Mom's at 11pm. The steep drive down from Donner pass to Auburn wasn't exactly fun, especially in the dark. The brakes and transmission definitely got a workout. We had planned on stopping at the first IN-N-OUT we saw, but weren't able to get off the freeway in time until the 4th one we saw, in Davis.
We picked up Sang's car this morning and it arrived just fine, and we got almost everything out of the truck. Next task is trying to get to the A's playoff games this week.

Day 4: North Platte, NE to Provo, UT
The drive across Wyoming was windy and rainy, and the climb up and over the continental divide really sucked up gas. We made it to Provo in time for dinner with my family, and after spending the night it's time for the home stretch tomorrow.

Day 3: South Holland, IL to North Platte, NE
We were hoping to make it to Cheyenne, Wyoming today but came up a little short. At least we got a decent room at the Ramada to make up for last night. Today was the first time I've paid less than $2/gallon for gas in a long, long time.

Day 2: Utica, NY to South Holland, IL
We just checked in to an EconoLodge in South Holland, Illinois, and I think it must be the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in (not counting some pretty sketchy hostels in Europe and Guatemala). I guess sometimes you get what you pay for ($40).
The internet access has proven to be pretty useful and has already paid for itself. We were about to get gas before leaving New York, then checked on gaspricewatch.com and found that if we drove another 50 miles to Erie, PA that we'd save almost 50 cents a gallon. Pretty cool!
